from 1.50

For his second collection of 1959, Le Corbusier defined another powerful shade of orange: orange vif is visually striking but warm. It is (like red and yellow) a luminous perceived color, most effective in full light. Orange vif is visually striking, warm and three-dimensional.

With an increased proportion of yellow, orange vif emerges and loses luminescence in the shade. A portion of gray has a fundamentally opposing effect. Orange vif is a strong, dulled shade that marks the area and is also clearly recognizable in shadow.
